Investment Piece of the Month

January 15, 2014

I can’t believe it’s January already. Where in the world did December go? Actually, where did 2013 go? That’s sort of scary how fast that year went.

With the recent cold snap — and flaky Southern temperatures —  my investment piece for January is a good quality winter jacket that keeps you warm and fashionable. When it was 9 degrees in the morning last week, I suddenly realized that I do not own a winter coat. I had one in college that someone stole at a bar — rude — and then never really bought another one. Buying a winter coat is historically not the sexiest item to buy, but it should be with the ones I chose below from Barbour.

I really love this one below. -- Goring Quilted JacketI have coveted this jacket for quite some time, and one of my friends Sarah wore this jacket to a football game recently and looked too cute. Because it cinches in at the waist, it is perfect for wearing out and about and still staying warm. -- International Polarquilt Jacket

This one is a little longer in the length for those of you who — like me — have a long torso.

These jackets are not cheap, but staying warm and cute comes at a price. So does drinking too much when you have to work the next day, but that’s neither here nor there.

Any other winter jacket go-tos I should peruse?

Happy Hump Day. Cue that GEICO camel…
