Thank you everyone for your thoughtful calls, texts, emails, messages, etc., that you’ve sent me over the past few days about Wilson’s and my big news. We are so excited — but still nervous as F — about moving and starting a new adventure and your kind, encouraging words are the best. You peeps is so saweet!
In other exciting news — less life-altering, yet still great — I am thrilled to share that I found a new line of workout clothes that is similar to Lululemon but that is half the cost! Entering into your life with flamboyance and cost-efficiency is Fabletics.
While the name is truly atrocious — Fabletics? Really? — the clothes are quite great. A friend of mine that runs Tone Body Fitness told me that Kate Hudson had a new line of workout clothes and, as a large fan of both Kate and Goldie, I figured it was worth a try, especially after I saw the deals offered for new clients. Each new client gets 50% off their first order or you can select an entire outfit of workout pieces for just $25. You have to fill out a silly little lifestyle quiz so they can “select” outfits for you, but you can still buy the pieces individually and get the 50% discount.
I chose to get this sports bra and this pair of yoga pants because I didn’t love any of the “outfits” Fabletics chose for me. I don’t like being told what to do. The total of these pieces? $35! Boom. Compare that with this Lululemon sports bra for a whopping $52 and this pair of capris for $72 — a lot of money for a little bit of fabric in my opinion.I ordered the size comparable to what I wear in Lululemon bras and pants and while the size for the sports bra was the same, the size for the pants was most certainly NOT. Imagine the procedure of pouring the sausage contents into the plastic casing… Anywho I had to return the pants and go up one size, which actually fit great. I wore both the sports bra and pants to a pilates class today and they were… FAB. (???) I’m going to stop using that word I think. It’s important to note that the material of the Fabletics pieces is NOT the same as Lululemon. It’s very similar, but doesn’t have the exact same stretch and elasticity for which Lululemon is famous. I recommend Fabletics pieces as supplements to your exercise wardrobe, not complete replacements of your Lululemon stuff entirely. Mixing the Fab pants and bra with my nicer clothes de Lulu works out perfectly. Silver spoon taste on a plastic fork budget indeed.
Another thing that is SUPER important to note is that if you do become a VIP member of Fabletics — I wasn’t sure how NOT to become one, but I’m not FAB with technology — you will be charged automatically each month for a new outfit if you do not opt out of this by the 5th of every month. This is a bit whack I’ll admit but I’ve opted out of the outfit already for the month of June — they sent me an email notification — and I plan on cancelling my membership tomorrow to make sure I don’t get charged for any other outfits moving forward too. The Fabletics site boasts “no obligation to buy” and so I’m holding them to this. I’m not explaining this part very well to you and I’m very sorry about that but I’ve had a few glasses of wine and I don’t even understand it really myself so what’s a girl to do? Have another glass of course…
Anyway if you are concerned about being charged accidentally for more workout stuff — I certainly don’t blame you — then the Fabletics crew is there to chat with you and explain this much better than I am from 9 AM to 9 PM M through F.
All jokes and wine aside, give this stuff a try — it’s a great bargain, good quality and a heluva lot cheaper than the Lululemon loot, and that is a wonderful thing people. After all, it is bikini season.
