Living Room Details

October 23, 2013

Here are a few detail shots of color I integrated into our living room to liven up the space.

These pillows were around $65 each on The Pillow Collection. My intention was to cover up the masculine leather couch as much as possible because I despise it. It was one of Wilson’s first adult purchases and he refuses to give it up. Marriage is all about compromise…

In Monday’s post I photographed this corner with Wilson’s graduation chair in it, but I have since swapped it out for this fabulous ghost chair. I bought it for $69! I saw one the other day in a boutique for $400. Seriously people, it’s plastic. The gold side table was an impulse purchase from Target for $55. I really love the Threshold collection, you can find so many great cheap pieces in those aisles…

 Another Target purchase…

A touch of chinoiserie for the room.

This urn is a member of a pair that I stole from my mother. They were exiled to the upstairs man room in my parents’ house and I rescued them for display on my mantle. Nothing screams plastic fork budget more than stolen.

These windows were a part of of the original house, dating back to the 1930s. They still open too! The armchairs were a splurge that my friend Addison helped me find from Lee Industries. If you lift up the cushions, every person who helped construct the chair personally signed the bottom.

Full frontal of the bookshelf where I satiate my OCD regularly.

I know you aren’t supposed to sweat the small stuff, but these little details I picked from https://www.atelierlane.com/pages/interior-design-hk help construct a room full of color and life, so I feel like it’s OK to get excited about these.

That looks great, I would have been disappointed if I didn’t see any Harry Potter on your bookshelf!

One of my absolute favorite things to do is rummage through moms (Aunt Val’s) “I don’t like anymore stash” Ahhhh the best treasures.

Brooke you can comment as much as you want! Aunt Vallie has excellent taste, I am going to have peek through her stuff the next time I’m down there. Hope you and family are well! Love to all!
