Currently Dying Over…

March 10, 2014

Sooo it’s been a week since we’ve last spoken. My bad, sorry about that. I went on a fabulous week-long vacation to Jackson Hole, where I “skied,” definitely apres-skied — aka drank fancy drinks with fancy names like the ‘Wyoming Wildflower’ — snowmobiled to a hot spring — incredible! — and made so many terrific memories with great friends and my #hubs. The fabulousness of the vacay was punctuated with contracting the norovirus on Friday and not eating solid foods until last night. Hey, at least I didn’t pack on any vacation weight?

Anywho, needless to say I’ve had a spectacular past few days and I am now refreshed, severely dehydrated and ready to start bothering you again with my pursuit of fantastic deals.

But these shoes, unfortunately, are not a good deal. And I die for them.

At $595, they most CERTAINLY are not in my plastic fork budget. But they are a great closet staple and since there are tons of similar ones out there, I will be able to find cheaper ones, they just won’t be made by Jimmy Choo. Poo. Perhaps this will become my new eBay project

Also, Silver Spoon Taste is going global, people. I won an “award.” Someboday likes mah blawg.

Thank you Sarah of therapeutic designs blog for giving me the Liebster award! She must like malbec as much as I do. Here is a little history on the Liebster…

The word “Liebster” originates from the German word “liebste” which means “dearest.” The origin of this award is unknown, although several posts have suggested a German blog. The rules of this award had changed over the years although the underlying goal remains the same: to bring attention to blogs that have not been discovered yet. It’s basically a great way for small bloggers — I have a big personality, very small blog — to connect and introduce their readers to other good bloggers.

Questions Sarah from therapeutic designs blog asked me:

1. If you had a free day to do whatever you want to do, what would you do?

Ooo I love this. I would wake up, make coffee, read the slew of magazines I subscribe to but never have enough time to read, then make lunch, read a good book, go on a walk, visit my nieces, then start cocktail hour at approximately 4 PM. And go to bed at 8 PM. I’m so crazy.

2. What is your earliest memory?

Tuff question. I don’t remember.

3. What is your favorite cocktail/beverage?

Cocktail — cosmopolitan with a lemon twist. Beverage — malbec. Duh.

4. Trip of a lifetime, where would you go?

Tour Europe for three weeks — start in Spain and work my way through France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and then end in Greece. Clearly I’ve thought about this a lot.

5. Dinner and dancing out with friends or dinner party and gathering at your house?

Hmm that’s tuff too. I like them both equally — I love going out to dinner but also love hosting everyone at home too. Sorry for the non-answer.

6. What is your favorite object in your home?

One of my favorite objects is a little glass blue bird that sits on the shelf in my living room. It was my grandmother’s and I always loved it — when she passed away I made sure to snag it because it reminds me of her. Blue was her favorite color.

7. Summer or Winter?

SUMMER. For the love of everything that is holy please get here NOW.

8. Why do you blog?

I blog because it’s a wonderful creative outlet. Whenever I publish a post, I get this amazing feeling of belonging and satisfaction — the blog seems like one of those things that I’m just meant to be doing. It makes me so happy.

9. What and where is your favorite restaurant?

Ooo another tough one. I’m going to say Peninsula Grill in Charleston — they have a 12-layered coconut cake that is to die for. They actually have a registered trademark on this beast, it’s that good.

10. Mac or PC?

PC, unfortunately. I’m so not cool.

I would like to bestow the ever-so-prestigious award upon one of my new fave blogs, Well and Green Atlanta, written by my friend Laura. I have no clue about eating healthy and reading her posts are truly eye-opening for me about how to eat well and live healthily. I actually did her belly-breathing exercises last night to get to sleep. I know she’s a friend and that’s probably breaking the rules but a little nepotism never hurt anyone.

Laura here’s da rulez:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.
  2. Show off your award on your blog (in a post, widget, etc. like I did).
  3. Answer 10 questions given to you by the nominee before you.
  4. Create 10 questions of your own. (You can use mine if you want).
  5. Nominate 5-10 of your favorite blogs with fewer than 200 followers and notify them of their nomination. (I only did 1)
  6. And of course, tell them about it and provide a link back to your website so that they can know more about the award!

My questions for Well and Green Atlanta, most of which are copied from Sarah:

1. If you had a free day to do whatever you want to do, what would you do?

2. What is your favorite childhood memory?

3. What is your favorite cocktail/beverage?

4. Trip of a lifetime, where would you go?

5. Dinner and dancing out with friends or dinner party and gathering at your house?

6. What is your favorite recipe you created?

7. Hot or cold?

8. Why do you blog?

9. What and where is your favorite restaurant for clean eating?

10. Mac or PC?

Write back! LYLAS! TTYL!! 🙂 <3 <3 <3
